Hard work, determination and perseverance are the pillars of success of Nor-Weld’s founder, Leon Welch. Over 35 years ago, Northern Mobile Welding and Fabrication began with Leon, a labourer and a welder on a truck, delivering welding services throughout Orillia and surrounding Townships, including Muskoka and Simcoe County.

As the business grew, so did the dream of becoming one of the largest and most productive steel fabrication shops in central Ontario. Leon moved the core business to the current location in Orillia, added more vehicles and services, then key personnel, such as Glenn Smith, Chief Estimator, detailer and project manager.

After nearly 40 years working with steel and miscellaneous metals, Leon still believes no job is too big or too small, and welcomes many small welding projects and repairs in the shop. Complimented by 2 erection crews, mobile welding service, 18 ton boom truck, and upwards of 30 employees, he maintains interest in designing custom steel, aluminium or stainless steel projects to suit your needs, and you will be amazed by the results.
